Montana Researcher Says He Needs Aborted Babies to Cure Coronavirus

A medical researcher in Hamilton, Montana, has been importing dead babies for his medical research, likely in violation of federal law. The Montana Daily Gazette reported on Kim Hasenkrug’s morbid fascination with dead babies last month. First reported by The Sun, Hasenkrug made the news for trying to fuse mice with human DNA obtained by fetal tissue imported from out-of-state abortion clinics. In response, President Donald Trump signaled that he would reassert the ban on buying electively aborted babies for this purpose.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Human Fetal Tissue Research Ethics Advisory Board, spearheaded by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar, made a statement in regard to the controversy sparked by Hasenkrug’s Montana laboratory, “In providing advice and recommendations on these matters, the Ethics Board will consider, among other things, the use of alternative models, and review and verify the core ethical principles and procedures used in the process to obtain written voluntary informed consent for the donation of tissue.”

In short, the Trump Administration, like many in Montana, was aghast that the laboratory was paying for dead babies aborted electively (without any type of medical necessity). It seemed that Hasenkrug’s baby-mice hybrid research was now on the radar of medical ethicists.

However, capitalizing upon the coronavirus crisis, Hasenkrug now claims he needs to import the baby cadavers to do coronavirus research rather than experimenting with his bizarre mice-human hybrids. According to leftists at Vox, the future of the world’s health might depend upon Hasenkrug’s access to dead babies.

In an article entitled Coronavirus Treatment Research is Being Held Up By Trump’s Ban on Fetal Research, the National Institutes of Health’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Montana (Hasenkrug’s lab), wants to test potential treatments for Covid-19 in “mice with humanized lungs.” It seems that Hasenkrug is scrambling for reasons to continue to pay cash for aborted infants.

In theory, the leftists are excited that Haenkrug’s “Frankenstein Mice” with human tissue will be good subjects to test a potential coronavirus vaccine.

However, Breitbart recently posted a refutation of this claim. Citing the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), the research arm of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, said that the appeal for dead babies in the wake of coronavirus is “shamelessly exploiting the coronavirus pandemic, playing on people’s fears at a vulnerable time so that a select few can continue to use aborted fetal tissue in their research.”

The Charlotte Lozier Institute claimed, “The fact is there are modern, successful alternatives available. Already, over 60 potential treatments are under investigation – none of which need aborted fetal tissue to fight coronavirus. Instead of wasting precious time listening to these dishonest claims, we should continue to focus our attention on successful, ethical alternatives that don’t require the exploitation of baby body parts, taxpayer dollars, and public sentiment that just wants a swift and compassionate end to this crisis.

  1. […] Designed to conjoin human DNA with that of mice, the project was headed up by Democrat activist and scientist, Kim Hasenkrug. The Montana Daily Gazette reported in a follow-up piece to the original article that Hasenkrug tried to defend his importation of dead babies from California, claiming that the “Frankenstein research” was necessary to cure Coronavirus.
