The woman’s identity is not being released by Butte law enforcement until her family is notified.

According to Sheriff Ed Lester in a news release late Tuesday, the woman went to the hospital after the tasing incident and died soon thereafter. An autoposy is being scheduled by the Montana State Crime Lab, the Montana Department of Criminal Investigation, and the Buttte-Silver Bow Coroner’s office.
