In one more example of the government’s disregard for you and your hard-earned tax dollars, the city of Great Falls has been accused and has admitted to providing tax-payers funded resources to a private, non-profit company, Big Sky Country National Heritage Area Inc.
Writer, musician, and freedom-activist, Jeni Dodd filed the formal complaint with the Cascade County Attorney last summer, after extensively researching and gathering evidence of the public fleecing carried out by the City of Great Falls.
Jeni sent a brief explanation about the complaint in e-mail, a portion of the e-mail is posted below:
Last summer, I submitted a formal complaint to the Cascade County Attorney against the City of Great Falls regarding the use of government resources (aka our tax money) to support a private nonprofit—Big Sky Country National Heritage Area Inc. I cited portions of both the Montana Code Annotated and the Official Code of the City of Great Falls that I felt were violated. BSCNHA Inc is the organization pushing National Heritage Area designation for ALL of Cascade County and a large portion of Chouteau County. This includes ALL PRIVATE LAND found within the NHA’s proposed boundaries.
Having extensively researched and gathered evidence through Freedom of Information requests, I have proof that city officials provided mapping services, space for meetings and more, to BSCNHA Inc, using city employees on city time and with city resources. City officials have also admitted in their responses to have assisted BSCNHA Inc. – Jeni Dodd
In the formal complaint, Dodd outlined the wasteful spending conducted by City officials in the form of mapping services, space for meetings, using city employees on city time, and much more, all for a private, non-profit company.
Jeni Dodd joined me live on Montana Gazette Radio earlier to go over her complaint in detail and to ask for your support. See the full interview by clicking the video below.
