Few pieces of legislation have enjoyed more coverage on Montana Daily Gazette than HB 573. The bill, sponsored by Brad Tschida and authored by Randy Pinocci and Martin Lynch, has been a focal point for ending Big-Tech censorship in Montana. Even though HB 573 failed to pass on March 2 by 1 vote, all hope is not lost for those who wish to enjoy a censorship-free internet experience without arbitrarily being banned or put in virtual “jail” for their political views.
Montana Senator Theresa Manzella (SD 44) appeared on Montana Gazette Radio with Jim White recently to express her intent on reviving HB 573 and reintroducing it in the Senate. Normally, the time to submit a bill would be over. But HB 573 is a revenue-producing bill, so the time needed to file it is extended for an extra couple of weeks.
When reached for comment on the possibility of Manzella reviving HB 573 in the Senate, Public Service Commissioner Randy Pinocci had the following to say:
HB 573 is a vital piece of legislation that has other members of the Public Service Commission behind it. I expect to call for a vote of support for Theresa Manzella from all Commissioners at our meeting next week – Randy Pinocci, Montana PSC
