Legislation to ban Critical Race Theory (CRT) in Idaho schools has passed the state House by a 27-8 vote.
The bill, HB377, is moving to the state Senate after being approved in the House. The bill, if approved and signed into law, would prohibit schools from teaching “that any sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin is inherently superior or inferior.”
The bill states: “The Idaho legislature finds that tenets…often found in “critical race theory”…exacerbate and inflame divisions on the basis of sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, national origin, or other criteria in ways contrary to the unity of the nation and the well-being of the state of Idaho and its citizens.”
Idaho isn’t the first to prohibit schools from teaching Marxist Critical Race Theory, Ron DeSantis, Florida’s Governor has publicly stated that CRT has no place in Florida, stating: “Critical race theory will not have a place in any public schools in the Sunshine State.”
“There’s no room in our classrooms for things like Critical Race Theory. Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money,” DeSantis added.
While it’s encouraging that several states are moving to ban Critical Race Theory from being taught in schools, other states, such as California, show no signs of remorse for the daily indoctrination young kids are subjected to at their hands.
