A Virginia physical education teacher was fired by his school district after professing his believe in biological science during a school board meeting. Part of his job, as a physical education teacher, is to understand things about human anatomy. However, the teacher made the grave mistake of believing that it was appropriate to teach science and not social engineering.
Tanner Cross appeared before his school board in Loudon County, Virginia, and told them, “It’s not my intention to hurt anyone, but there are certain truths that we must face. I love all of my students but I will never lie to them regardless of the consequences. I’m a teacher but I serve God first and I will not affirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it’s against my religion. It’s lying to a child, it’s abuse to a child, and it’s sinning against our God.”
You can watch the video below.
Cross’ religious beliefs just happen to accord to biological science. A boy cannot become a girl, and a girl cannot become a boy. This is a medical fact. Cutting off one’s penis does not make a boy into a girl. It makes him an emasculated boy. Hormone therapy does not make a girl into a boy. It just makes her into a gross girl.
Whether or not “transgender” treatments are abuse is Cross’ opinion, however. One might argue that genital mutilation and sterilization of kids is abuse. Others, who disagree, are who we call “sociopaths.”
Two days later, Principal Sean Lacey informed parents that the teacher had been fired.
Lacey wrote, “I’m contacting you to let you know that one of our physical education teachers, Tanner Cross, is on leave beginning this morning. In his absence, his duties will be covered by substitute staff already working in our building.”
The point of contention is that Cross refused to refer to students by the wrong gender or pronouns. While the school’s “inclusivity” policy requires lying about students’ genders if they request, Cross was unwilling to bear false witness and sully his reputation as an honorable person.
