It’s not too hard to understand why our nation’s dominant institutions—business, education, arts, media, government, entertainment, even some in the church—have aligned against life, biblical morality, free speech, marriage, family, and even godly love! One reason is Christians are supposed to be in control of the culture.[i]
Most leaders in America are silent. Many do not know the terrible cost to one’s soul for remaining silent in the face of injustice.[ii] Many shepherds are acting ignorantly and demonstrating they do not really care about educating the children of God to have an impact in the marketplace of ideas, our culture. Pastors of most churches only focus on the importance of half the gospel. The very important part of bringing people to the Lord with the hope they will be saved and encouraging them to tithe. There is an equally important, and one could say the other half of the gospel is seldom taught. This is learning how to use the power of Christ to put on the full armor of God to stand against and expose evil by speaking boldly.[iii]
Half of the gospel is believing and learning all the different parts of the armor of God, and how to put it on and wear it correctly. Then we learn to have faith the armor will protect us.
The most important half is seldom taught. This is standing against evil while using the shield and the sword fighting the good fight of faith.[iv]
Fathers and Mothers are God’s example for the Church to follow
We are all children of God. “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (Romans 8:16). Christ is our father in heaven, and we should be like our Father. Wonderful fathers and mothers always have their children’s best interests in mind. We warn our children by exposing and identifying the evil predators in the world, and how to combat their lies and threats. We speak for our children and watch over them like the Holy Spirit of Christ. We are their coach, protector, educator, intercessor, and warner of the dangers to come. We teach them how to withstand evil and equip them to call upon the most powerful entity in the world – the power of the Holy Spirit that Christ has promised to guide, protect, and intercede for us. We do this because we love our children so much, we would give our lives for them, just like Christ died for us. We spend a great amount of effort protecting them with the truth defining the intricate social and political lies, which support the evils they will face in the world. We do this because we know without the truth, without this knowledge, without exposing these lies our children will be sucked in and/or victimized by the world and fail to fight the good fight of faith.
Most Shepherds today are failures at warning the body of Christ
Today’s principalities, managed by evil beings, performing like brain cancer with its intricate social and political lies spreading out and killing all the important parts of American culture. They are focused on indoctrinating and destroying the children of God, including our children and their children. This regressive ideology on the surface is a draconian religion more like tribalism, but under the surface, it is the spirit of antichrist. Their tribal creed is demanding Christians correct their errors of thinking,[v] biblical truth, and accept debauchery as normal. They are sexualizing our kids in schools and teaching them to hate God and America. These regressives from the leaders down in government are pushing Americans to accept the murder of the unborn as a civil right, homosexuality, and transgender delusion as normal. They used the pandemic to attempt to destroy America’s religious freedom by shutting down churches. Now they are using identity politics combined with Critical Race (hate) Theory to divide America into racial and economic factions to persecute those who will not bow and kiss their creatures ring. The bottom line is our government today is the sponsor of lies and the enemy of those who speak the truth. It protects the immoral, the criminals, and persecutes the moral and truth speakers. Our government is now the enemy of God’s divine design.[vi]
Many pastors are caving and trying to appease the worldly. Many even believe the unchangeable truth of God is unloving. This is proven because they focus on not offending rather than mirroring Christ’s boldness and tenacity towards evil. Poorer still, if the truth is spoken in the church regarding principalities and their evil agendas remarkably someone in leadership apologizes. Worse, they cover the biblical truth about societal lies by diluting biblical truths to seek worldly acceptance. The net effect is this church turns into an enterprise, fearful they won’t be able to sell the gospel, instead of depending on the power of the Holy Spirit. The real truth of the evil dangers attacking the children of God is never revealed because they distress over making someone unhappy. If fathers and mothers appeased their children this way, what would they be called? For shepherds, they are false witnesses.[vii]
Pastors must know if they refuse to shrewdly speak and protect the body of Christ they are no different than the silent watchman on the wall in Ezekiel 33:6. “But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I (God) will require at the watchman’s hand.”[viii] According to Barna polls this silence is happening in 70% of the churches in America.
Disciples of Christ know what Jesus proved boldly standing against and exposing evil while acting and speaking God’s truth, is righteousness![ix] His disciples were amazed at His tenacity when they said, “But look! He speaks boldly, and they say nothing to Him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is truly the Christ?”[x] This shows Jesus was exposing evil rulers and He didn’t stop exposing evil because He feared people would not like Him. Jesus wasn’t liked when He “…drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold doves,” (Matthew 21:12). Jesus never stopped exposing evil with His truth,[xi] which is what can save this evil world. Christ promised, which many disciples and shepherds seem to have forgotten. We “…can do all things through Christ…”[xii] even speak the truth defining the intricate social and political lies destroying religious freedom in America today.
Witnessing Christ’s truth into darkness is every disciple’s charge.[xiii] It is our commission from God to shine His light in the darkness, into all nations[xiv] in every way possible so the Holy Spirit can turn people from darkness to light.[xv]
What should Disciples do?
Start explaining the obvious, America was created by the providence of God and has received an inheritance from God,[xvi] called Christian liberty. Now we have a duty to defend America’s God-given liberty against the lord of this world.
Disciples support your church’s obligations in Eph. 3:10, “It is the wisdom of the church that is made known to the principalities.” Note the colorful symbolism. Principalities are political entities. This spoken wisdom of God caused what Paul revealed in 1 Corinthians 16:9 to occur. “For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” Defending Christ’s liberty exposes God’s wisdom to evil. Speaking and exposing biblical truths into darkness is what gives the church a great and effective door to preach the good news.
Shepherds and disciples should be encouraged to gladly accept this greater responsibility to speak Christ’s truth to adversaries. In the New Testament, John the Baptist started his ministry this way and gained attention so people would come and be baptized. Christ followed and spoke into His adversaries, the Israeli government. This brought the attention of the crowds that enabled Christ to speak into the multitudes. Many Shepherds and Disciples don’t seem to understand speaking God’s truth, God’s wisdom, into darkness, causes a righteous controversy that brings the crowds to hear the message of hope. Wow, if churches would just follow Jesus’s example.
What should Pastors do?
Tell the Body of Christ what you are doing and why. Bring them into the realization that what is being taught is for their protection against the demonic dangers to the body of Christ. Teach Christians how to be the watchman on the wall, and stand for Christ’s liberty[xvii] in the marketplace of ideas! Teach them to have no fellowship with political darkness but expose it, with the truth of God, in every way possible![xviii] Teach them this evil world cannot be appeased by silence, speaking half-truths, nor being a false witness. This only emboldens Satan. Prove biblically the evil can only be changed by acting out the spoken the word of God that is “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”[xix]
Pastors create a Watchmen on the Wall ministry. Solicit culturally informed Disciples to encourage, alert, and educate the various church groups, especially the youth, and men and women ministries. In this way, the church can educate the body of Christ to the dangers of what John calls the anti-Christ who is here.[xx]
May God guide you!
