A new study published by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) finds that blood clotting risks from the AstraZeneca vaccine are twice as deadly to young people (18-39 year olds) than Covid itself.
The study concludes that using the vaccine on the entire adult population would avert 10 deaths from Covid, but there would be 21 associated deaths from blood clotting.
The Vaxzevria vaccine, commonly called AstraZeneca vaccine, has been banned in 20+ countries. The European Union called for an Emergency Vaccine Summit after more than a dozen European countries chose to stop using the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of serious blood clotting.
The European Medicines Agency stated: “[it] currently remains of the view that the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine in preventing Covid-19, with its associated risk of hospitalization and death, outweigh the risks of side effects.”
While research shows that the AstraZeneca vaccine is contributing to life-threatening blood clots, the U.S. has not stopped administering the vaccine.
