In weeping sackcloth and ashes, a window was broken in The Bookshelf, an in-your-face LGBTQ-supporting bookstore in Kalispell, Montana. Because the bookstore was flying the sodomy flag, its owners presume that the broken window was related to its stance on human sexuality.
According to the Flathead Beacon, a left-leaning opinion website, the store’s owner, Kyle Fort, claimed that activists were warning passers-by of the broken glass (that was nice of them) and the store’s queer flag was found crumpled to the floor. It had to have been the rascally anti-gay activists.
He told the fake news outlet, “There are nine windows, and that was the only one that anyone broke. There wasn’t anything inside or outside that had been used to break the window, so the flag being pulled down was kind of conspicuous.”
[insert dramatic music]
The Bookshelf made Montana Daily Gazette’s list of companies to boycott for requiring facial diapers, which was aggregated from #CovidSafeMontana, in which businesses signed up to support Governor Bullock’s mask mandate regardless of whether or not it was soon to be overturned by Governor Greg Gianforte.
According to the Flathead Beacon:
Mini pride flags line the top of the bookstore’s Main Street window, and a transgender pride flag is draped in the corner. Fort and Wolf began signaling their support for the queer community two years ago when the couple displayed the traditional pride flag from a store window. The family-owned business also registered under Open To All, a statewide supportive business initiative.
The business also raises money for two sodomy-based organizations, “Glacier Queer Alliance (GQA)” and “Love Lives Here (LLH).”
Fort said, “If the intention was to scare and intimidate, then the opposite is actually happening. The person who did it is essentially raising a bunch of money for two really great local organizations that they probably completely disagree with.”
Photographs from the broken window make it appear to have been broken from the inside, although there is no sign of forced entry according to news reports. The LGBTQ movement relies upon victimology, the attempt to gain sympathy and power by leveraging victimhood, which is often self-perpetrated.
No one needs to jump to the conclusion that the LGBTQ bookstore’s window was broken out of anti-LGBTQ hatred.
Consider a sodomy-affirming church that had anti-Trump and “fag” graffiti placed upon it. After receiving much attention, donations, and local support for their victimization, it turns out to have been perpetrated by the gay organ and choir director of the church.
The Wall Street Journal points out that such “hate crimes hoaxes are more common than you think.”
As Pulpit & Pen reports, “Wilfred Reilly, writing for USA Today, claims to have found at least four-hundred such fraudulent faux-victims. Those are only the ones substantiated by the journalist, with thousands more probably fake claims out there. Each and every claim of a hate crime is reported in the press and investigated by police. Rarely does the media report when the investigation ends with the finger of empirical evidence pointed back at the alleged victims. And yet, it happens all the time. The Yasmin Seweid, Air Force Academy, Eastern Michigan, Wisconsin-Parkside, Kean College, Covington Catholic, and “Hopewell Baptist burning” incidents all name just a few. According to the research, there are approximately 7 thousand reported hate crimes in America each year, with about 10% provenly false and many (if not most) of the others unsubstantiated.
They go on to explain the concept of “victimology”:
Victimology serves three main purposes for Marxism, as defined in the aforementioned work at Acton:
First, victimology condones weakness in failure. Victimology tacitly stamps approval on failure, lack of effort, and criminality. Behaviors and patterns that are self-destructive are often approved of as cultural or presented as unpreventable consequences from previous systemic patterns.
Second, victimology hampers progress because, from the outset, it focuses attention on obstacles.
Third, victimology keeps [bigotry] alive because many…are constantly painted as [bigots] with no evidence provided. [Such] charges create a context for backlash and resentment, fueling new attitudes among [many] not previously held or articulated, and creates “separatism” – a suspension of moral judgment in the name of racial solidarity.
In short, it pays to be a victim. Sympathy is the currency of narcissists. It makes people feel good to receive sympathy and turns victims into instantaneous heroes for no reason other than that they were victimized (which feeds the narcissism). Likewise, showering sympathy upon the allegedly oppressed signals virtue which, again, makes narcissists feel good about themselves.
Fort is using the broken window to raise funds…
He told the fake news outlet, “While he waits for the store’s new window, which will continue to display the Progressive Pride flag, Fort is accepting donations and ready for more downtown Kalispell businesses to support the LGBTQ+ community and enlist in the Open To All pledge.”
How much does it cost to replace a window? This was a money-making opportunity. Fort is raising money for an “LGBTQ Library” to spread gay propaganda throughout the Flathead Valley.
Meanwhile, if there is a group or individual in Kalipell who breaks a window because a store owner exercises their First Amendment rights to fly a flag in honor of sodomy, shame on them. Until that’s proven by the police, we presume that – as with most anti-gay hate crimes – it was likely self-perpetuated as an effort for attention, sympathy, and money.
However, if you know who did this, please call the authorities immediately. Everyone should have the right to speak freely, even if their ideas are dangerous and offensive (like the LGBTQ movement).
