Agitated and belligerent, the man began breaking posts and windows, ultimately resulting in nearly 40 vehicles arriving at the scene, a count confirmed by a nearby resident. A SWAT Team, Sheriffs, Police, Ambulances, and other law enforcement were present and on the scene from Kalispell, Lakeside, and Whitefish. It seems the assailant was unarmed but had access to firearms.

A nearby resident was interviewed by Montana Daily Gazette and gave this information concerning the stand-off.

“He came out and was cussing out the cops breaking things and threatened to kill the cops. At approximately 8:45 pm, flashbangs and bean bag shots were released by authorities.”

The witness continued his account of the events:

Some within the neighborhood thought the perpetrator had been shot and killed, but that was not the case.

Montana Daily Gazette was the only media present on the scene and able to speak with a Sheriff and Police.

When asked by MDG whether or not they had a favorable resolution and were happy with how the events went down, with no one being killed or seriously injured, the interviewed officer confirmed. “Yes, we were thankful for an outcome that was positive.”

The officer likewise confirmed that the felon would be going back to jail, noting “Yes, he will be booked.”

Another Kalispell resident remarked; “there was another stand-off night before last on Whitefish Stage also.”
