More Science: Do Reindeer Really Fly? Red Noses/Clicking Hooves-

Reindeer can run up to 50 MPH, are herbivores and social creatures. They are part of the elk and caribou family and live in the Northern Hemisphere throughout Canada, Europe, and other places.

So the chances are reindeer do not fly but run very fast and tend to leap, which is how the legend of ‘flying’ reindeer came to be. Also, they up high when they are stressed. Scientists call the rearing up and jumping an “excitation leap.” They also are known to make clicking noises with their hooves.

And yes, their noses get red, and it’s gross and not what you think.
