Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen is warning Montanans to be on the lookout for criminals seeking to capitalize on high feed prices of feed by scamming ranchers and farmers; selling them grain hay, barley straw, and wheat straw at low process in order to make a quick sale, and then never delivering on the product
One Canadian company, New Way Ag, is currently under investigation after the state’s Office of Consumer Protection estimates that they’ve stolen over $5,000,000 from Montanans using this method. Knudsen is asking anyone who has dealings with this company to call the number below. He explains:
“Montana ranchers are facing headwinds as it is without being scammed by crooks looking to make a quick buck. Please report any suspected scams to our office so we can hold these criminals accountable,. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Now more than ever we all must keep a watchful eye out for scammers looking to take advantage of Montanans.”
