This story was submitted by Brentley Ehmann’s mother (Summer Ehmann). It was co-written by Brenda Roskos, Montana Daily Gazette Editor. Today is Brentley’s 12th birthday. He passed away recently in Kalispell MT in April 2022.
“Brentley Ehmman was no ordinary boy. He was born with a rare form of Craniosynostosis (which you can research at the end of this story); in fact, he was the 6th child in the world to have ever been born with it.
He endured surgery as an infant and became the BOSS. The boy had no fear! He loved motorbikes, snow-skiing, waterskiing, hunting, videogames, and taekwondo!
Brentley took 1st place in the state of Montana over a period of several years and so wanted to earn his black belt.
And trucks. The boy loved trucks.
He was his father’s twin, comrade, business partner, and best buddy. The two were immersed in the activity of building trucks and working on cars, and he LOVED being by his father’s side as much as possible. He was entrepreneurial by nature (he inherited that from both his father and me) and couldn’t wait to start building a custom gaming computer and trucks with his dad.
Being Brentley’s momma (along with his sister Braylee) has been the greatest honor of my life. He was loving, funny (the class clown just like his dad), and loved the life we all created together as a family. He stated, “I never want to go to college but just learn from you guys and build a house behind ours and never leave.”
A little time has now transpired since Brentley got sick and passed away this April from spinal meningitis, and we still grieve his passing and always will.
We find peace in knowing that his life was not in vain but had meaning and purpose far beyond what all of us could have ever imagined. Please check out and share the non-profit that was created years ago because of all we endured with our sweet boy.
